On the international stage, it only takes some outspoken Americans to give everyone a bad reputation. Broad repercussions can be felt by these negative perceptions, even affecting a country’s foreign policy. Unfortunately, there are quite many nations out there which generally have a dim view of American tourists. We have made a list of 22 countries where Americans may not feel very welcome. However, remember that there is always a possibility that this claim is not true, but it doesn’t hurt to make the extra effort in respecting the foreign policies, laws, and culture unless you want to confirm our bad reputation.

The frosty relationship between the US and Russia that started with the Cold War hasn’t really thawed. More recently, the opposition of America to the military intervention of Russia in Ukraine has made the U.S. even more unpopular among Russians. In fact, 71% of them view America unfavorably.
