The Raw Food Diet

This diet is basically what it says it is. Following this eating plan you’ll consume uncooked fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds. Foods that can be cooked are not to be heated above 118 Fahrenheit. One of the basic concepts in this eating program is that a lot of the nutrients in the foods we eat, even in vegetables, are lost during the cooking process. The proponents of this diet claim that enzymes are the most important aspect of food. These enzymes help us to properly digest the food we eat and then absorb the nutrients. Eating too much cooked food causes our bodies to have digestive problems, age faster, and gain weight. Following the Raw Food Diet is similar to eating like a vegan. Depending on the individual, the consumption of only raw foods is about 70 percent of the diet. This diet may be difficult to stick with and you probably would want to invest in a juicer and food dehydrator. Demi Moore is listed as one of the many celebrities who keeps in shape and stays healthy by following this diet.

The Maple Syrup Diet

This is more of a supplement to a diet rather than an actual diet. Many insist, however, that it works wonders. The Maple Syrup Diet basically consists of mixing a detox drink that includes natural tree syrup, a small amount of cayenne pepper, fresh squeezed lemon juice, and half a pint of water. There are several levels of using this drink mix. It can be substituted for meals or used as a total detox for several days. It’s easy and cheap to follow. If taken to extremes or used for long periods of time, however, this could be unhealthy and would be considered a crash diet. A health professional should be consulted if it’s being used for more than a supplement. This diet has also been called the Lemonaid Diet and even the Master Cleanse. It supposedly helps clean out toxins and build-up of waste in a person’s body. Beyonce used the Maple Syrup Diet to lose weight when she performed in the film “Dreamgirls.”
