Christopher was surprised about this because the area was slightly obscured by leaves and mud. He shook them off and looked around. He could not believe what he was seeing. Did he really just stumble, literally, into an abandoned goldmine? He was not yet sure of it, but the structure appeared to be very old. It did not seem like it had been touched in a while. Despite this, he felt the need to go in!

The entrance to the mine had been covered in very thick moss. He could not see what was inside from there. He had always been an adventurous guy, so he went home to get a flashlight. He could not wait to see what was waiting for him inside.

The walls looked wet and unstable. It seemed like they could give in at any given moment. The sounds of his footsteps just bounced off the walls. He could not help but wonder about the marks he left on the soil with each step he made. Christopher was eager to explore the area. He made his way towards the walls and brushed the stones that were sparkling at the wall. “What if this was gold?” he asked himself. He soon snapped out of it upon noticing something that made him feel concerned. This little discovery of his could truly change how the exploration would go. What was it?

It might have been warm outside, but the mine was cold and even dewy on the inside. He noticed that he left deep footprints in the soil as well, so it must be wet. It meant that there must be a water source of some kind inside. After he took note of this, he considered it to be a huge red flag. Why? He knew that the presence of water puddles somewhere like this could mean that there is a gas leak there.

He pointed the flashlight ahead of him and right at the end of the tunnel. However, he still could not see where it ends! Christopher got a strong feeling that he was not alone down there, but he had no idea who else could possibly be in there. Soon enough, his suspicions were confirmed when he heard noises that come from somewhere else in the tunnel. He let his curiosity get the better of him as he tried to figure out where the noises were coming from. He did not know just how wrong his judgment was!

He kept walking deeper and deeper into the mine. Christopher did not find any definite sign of life. There were no noises, no footprints, no nothing. He held onto his flashlight as tightly as possible, almost as if it could save him from any potential danger. The same noises could still be heard, but it was louder this time. In his mind, they were very specific noises just like old machinery in action.

He would soon start to hear voices as well. The words were not clear enough for Christopher to hear what they were saying, but this gave him the confidence to yell out, “Who’s there?” However, he did not hear any response save for his echo. Still, he was full of courage and determination to find the speakers.

All of a sudden, he saw that he was walking through water and mud. His legs sunk into the slosh each time he took another step forward. He was able to find a yellow ventilation unit, but it must have seen better days in the past. He also saw chains coming from the ceiling, but they were in bad shape too.

All of a sudden, Christopher could feel a terrifying energy around him. He could tell that he was not alone down there. There was also a strong feeling that overtook him, telling him that he should not be there. He, however, ignored all of this and kept walking down to follow the path of the water. He felt convinced that it was going to lead him to whatever or whoever was making all the noise. Could someone have been living there all this time?

“The ambient temperature also seemed to suddenly drop all around me at this point, and I felt an even stronger negative presence ahead in the tunnel,” explained Christopher. It was only about 150 feet into the tunnel that he saw a light in the distance. What could it possibly be?

He was in shock when he finally figured it out. He was in complete disbelief, but his body eventually caught up with his brain. It told him to move out of the way, and so he did! After noticing one of the chains start to move by itself, he jumped and clung to the wall for his life.

He turned around and headed back to the entrance as soon as he could. His heart was pounding as was his head by the time he got outside. He let himself catch his breath and then made a beeline for his house. Christopher figured out who he had to call before anyone else: his real estate agent. In detail, he explained what he just went through in that small but scary tunnel. The realtor said they would have someone come over to take a look at it as soon as possible.

“When we went to ask about the place, we were finally told that the estate had actually been home to quite a lot of mining sites. A lot of mining was done in these hills at the turn of the century, and there are a lot of little mines that are scattered across the hills,” shared Christopher. At first, he was overcome with a feeling of relief. However, he immediately started to feel tense once more as his entire body tightened up and made breathing difficult. He yelled, “This cannot be happening!”

Christopher was motionless in the kitchen after hanging up the telephone. Out of the blue, the lights in the house began to flicker on and off! He did his best to stay calm and told himself that there was nothing bad happening. However, he could not help but panic when everything went dark all of sudden.

He was able to locate the switch despite the dark. He tried flipping it on and off, but that did not stop what was going on. Christopher also began to feel a breeze inside the room that he was sure was not there a moment ago. After everything that he went through, he knew that it was not a good idea to remain in the dark. He was able to tell that the temperature drastically went down in only a matter of seconds. It started to get so cold in the house that he was unable to see his breath! Christopher opened the door and found a man who introduced himself as Mr. Rudall there. He told this homeowner that he was sent by the real estate agency after the phone call and wanted to learn more about what he discovered on the property. He asked Christopher to lead him to where the mine was located so that he can see what could possibly be going on.

Together, the two of them walked through the woods to reach the mine. At the time, the sky was a dark shade of gray. It looked like a big storm was on the way! Christopher led Mr. Rudall to the mine entrance but warned him that he had to be careful down there to avoid getting into any danger.

When they got there, the two of them brought out their flashlights in the name of extra precaution. That time, the sparkles on the walls appeared to be even shinier. The material nearly blinded them by simply looking at them! Mr. Rudall inspected the walls very closely, much in the same way that a child would on Christmas day. He turned back to look at Christopher, but the look on his face said bad news.

Both of them knew that the gold there was untouched. It was also easy to tell that the miners who had been working there ended up abandoning the site instead of finishing their project. However, he was intrigued to find out the history behind this tunnel.

Christopher somehow found the courage to go deep inside the mine once more. There was this feeling that he would discover gold for himself. If not that, he would at least find out just how haunted this mine was. He dived inside this gold mine yet again, still armed with his flashlight and lots of extra batteries in a tote bag. As he got deeper into the cave, all he could see was darkness.

The first time he went inside the tunnel, he was only able to make it 150 feet before he decided it was time to head out. This time, he had the determination to see it to the end regardless of how scared he might be. This was the only way that he would ever find the answers he wanted. At 600 feet inside the tunnel, he finally found out where all the water came from. He found a single door ahead of him!

Goosebumps filled every last inch of his body. There was also water falling on his face now. Christopher took a deep breath and brought up his hand with the intention of knocking. Of course, he hoped that there would be no one behind the door. Upon opening it, he was shocked by the discovery he made.

It was like he had just walked into an alternate universe of some sort. The weather outside was warm and nice, but this room was just as cold as the inside of the freezer! He touched the walls only to find them cold to the touch. Down there, they also felt much rougher and more unfinished than those on the outside. His claustrophobia was finally kicking in, telling him it was time to turn around and head outside. It was then that his flashlight caught something that captured his attention.

However, he was also starting to find it harder to breathe down there. He was able to notice that breathing was starting to become a very difficult task. He shone the flashlight on the bricks and saw white scribbles on the surface. He was unable to figure out what they said until he took a closer look at them. What he found on them was bizarre and rendered him at a loss for what to do next. There were four vertical lines on the wall!

Using his hands, the touched the scratch marks to see what they were like. He could tell that someone made them using fingernails! They were not deep enough to have been made using a sharp object. However, they went deep enough to leave a mark on the cement. He had no clue who could have been trapped in there. However, he only got more terrified the more that he thought about these things.

There were other scratches on the other wall as well. This time, the marks formed letters. He was aware that the letters made up a word together, but he still could not figure out what they said. He brought out his camera to take a photo. Christopher was hoping that he could decode it using his computer.

He had been in dead silence the whole time, so you can just imagine how terrified he was after hearing a loud noise! He knew that there must be someone else in that room. He brought out the flashlight and pointed it at the direction of the noise. However, he did not find anything there. He tried to inspect the writings on the walls some more until he heard the sound of banging metal. Not only that, but he also felt a cold breeze on the back of his neck!

In the beginning, he assumed that the breeze came from behind him. He knew that this was not the case when he felt it in front of him and on his sides as well. He did not know where it came from and why, but he was scared for his life. He started to run!

His brain told him to stay still and silent, but his body told him something else. This was how he ended up sprinting out of that mine in record time. It turned out that there were stories about this place that he did not know beforehand. After catching his breath, he went home.

After he made it back to the house at long last, he went to his study and made sure to lock the door. He was aware that there was something shady happening in the mine. Christopher wanted to get to the bottom of things no matter what it took. He eventually tried to look for answers on the Internet.

After he tried to look up ‘haunted mines’ on Google, he got goosebumps as the results loaded once again. He could tell that the presence he felt in the mine was now inside the house. Christopher was not sure if this was just his mind playing wicked tricks on him.

Christopher turned around and started to hear whispers right beside where he was! Could he be going insane? Was any of this real? He turned around once more, and the whispers stopped at once. However, the air remained icy. The only thing he could hear right then was his heavy breathing.

The results page finally finished loading. The first result said, “If you want to get rid of the paranormal activity in the mine and subsequently, in your life, you have to face it.” Could Christopher actually do this? There was nothing for him to do but to give it a shot.

As he entered the door and walked into the store, there was a real strong smell of incense and right in front of him was a woman. She was fully clothed in purple and red, as she got closer to Christopher she put her hand out and immediately started reciting some kind of chant which weirdly enough sounded so familiar to him. The song drew him in and then he realizes this was the same chant he heard while he was in the mine. However, this one sounded more melodic. As soon as he realized this, he dashed straight for his car.

Without even thinking, Christopher drove straight to his mother’s house. And before no time, he put the house up for sale. The developers who soon became responsible for the property tried to get in touch with him but he never contacted them. His mother was the one who did everything on his behalf and made sure that the property was sold. She was of course open to any negotiations, just as long as someone would buy the property.

He then decided to take a stroll around his rand, little did he know he was about to come across something completely out of place and very strange.

It didn’t take much time before the archaeologists were able to give away some information that so many people had been thinking all along. It was quite obvious that whatever had just been discovered was definitely not from this time period. In actual fact, it was extremely ancient. For further inspection, a small piece was taken by the archeologists in an attempt to get a better understanding and hopefully a clearer picture.

After further investigation and a lot of research, the archaeologists eventually classified it as a fossil. However this was far from just a fossil, this had apparently come from an ancient turtle shell. But that was not it, there was a lot more to this bizarre story. It was actually the fact a very similar discovery had been made around the same time but on the other side of the world.

At the same time that this breakthrough was taking place in Argentina, an identical story was unwinding halfway across the world. A farmer from Michigan by the name of James Bristle had also come across something truly remarkable on his own property. These two men did not know each other at all, however, they amazingly both made history at the very same time. Despite having never even met each and both living on different continents, how was it possible that they found two incredible fossils?

Digging In
During the time of James’s finding, he was actually just looking for the best spot to install a new gas line. After much consideration, James decided that he was going to do the installation on his soy field, so he began to dig on the spot where he thought was best. He was well aware that a lot of digging was needed for the big natural gas line. Regardless, it did not occur to him in the least bit that his life was about to change after he made this unexpected discovery.

Of course, James wanted the digging process to be as efficient as possible, which is why he brought several heavy-duty machines to help me out. Amongst other things he took a backhoe to his property which he thought would be extremely useful. James was well aware that this was not going to be the easiest job and was obviously going to take him some time as well. However, he was determined to get it done by October. He also knew this was going to include a lot of work and perseverance.

His new assignment was a lot more difficult than the thought it would be. It was now beginning to snow and James was nowhere near where he intended to be. He may have underestimated what needed to be done and the amount of time it was going to take him. He was determined to not give up. As James continued to dig with one of the machines, he heard something strange. It appeared that the machinery had actually hit something hard. But what could it be?

James knew that the deeper he dug he would more than likely come across some solid rocks. However, he was kind of taken by surprise as he was digging in the soy field, which after all is a much softer and moist type of land. So this was quite strange, he thought for a minute. Perhaps what he had just hit was not actually a rock but something else?

As much he was insistent on finishing up his new project, he was now just as determined to figure out what on earth this object was. He began to carefully inspect the soil, making sure not to damage anything in the process. James could feel that this newly discovered object was quite hard but smooth, he knew straight away this was definitely not a rock. So what was it?

James began to clear as much of the dirt and mud off the object as possible. After that, he discovered something that looked very much like a bone. He had never seen anything like this in his entire life, so naturally, he was fascinated. He immediately thought that this may be some kind of rib bone, but after much thought, he knew this was simply too big to have come from any animal that frequently roams his property. James had no idea what was in his hands.

Back to the other farmer in Argentina for now. The archaeologists and researchers were able to summarize a lot more information than when they first laid their eyes on the object. It seems to be that the object that Jose had found was indeed an ancient fossil that came from the same era that dinosaurs roamed the earth. How incredible is that?

Curiosity Got The Best Of Him
At the time, Jose knew the object he found was far too big for anything like a horse or cow. But of course, he was overly curious about the object that he found, which is why he continued to dig deeper. It never crossed Jose’s mind that he would ever find a fossilized shell in his life, especially on a Christmas morning. Nonetheless, what exactly did he find? Well, apparently it was an armadillo-like creature that scientists call a ‘glyptodon’.

Having said that now let’s get back to James. The Michigan farmer continued to dig until the early hours of the morning. He was completely surprised that right in front of him was indeed another massive bone that was being concealed by the mud. In fact, this second one was much bigger than the original one he found the day before…

By now, James had already dug as deep as 10 feet below the ground. Although he had first begun this project with the intention of setting up a natural gas line, things started to take a turn. And in a matter of no time, word about this new discovery had spread like wildfire, not only to local people but also to media correspondents from around the world. This was indeed an enthralling story that definitely deserved to be seen by everyone.

The very same thing that happened in Argentina was now taking place in the small town of Michigan. Local residents always wanted to get involved in the action, they were desperate. They did not want to just step back and wait for answers, they wanted to be first-hand witnesses. So naturally, it was bound to happen sooner than later that the rumors would be flying around town. In fact, people got so crazy one person even said that the fossil came from a monster that used to live on James’s property!
