He and his friends started out robbing banks and happened to be successful because there was relaxed security. Walter recalls that after each robber they would “hang out at the strip at 14th and T [Streets], and act like big timers. We felt like gangsters.” Walter was on a high.

When Walter walked out of the bank, the police were already in the parking lot, waiting for him. “I tried to get away, ducking and weaving, running through cars,” he said. However, an officer didn’t give him the chance. Yet again, he was caught. What could he do next?

While he had gotten used to prison by that point, he decided that the only way his life would be even slightly improved was if he’d be transferred from a maximum-security center to a minimum-security one down the hill. Walter was devoted to improve his life and change things around. He had a clean record in prison and hoped to be moved to minimum security. When he finally was, this felt like camp. He had more freedom. In the beginning, escape wasn’t on his mind but that quickly changed.

His new situation was a lot easier. In fact, he said it was “more like a camp” compared to the last prison he was in. While this facility also had high fences and tall gun towers, it had a larger sense of freedom.

Unfortunately, one day one of the inmates yelled at the captain of the prisoner, and Walter was accused of this. The captain already disliked Walter and was frequently writing him up. “The negative reports kept piling up until I was one mark away from being sent back up the hill,” Walter said. Since he didn’t want to return to the previous prison, he decided it was time for him to figure out an escape.

He was instructed to clean the roads, which required him to wake up extra early and pick up trash from Raleigh. This process was dreadful, especially since he had food and drinks thrown at him all their. Even worse, it was winter and the weather was freezing.

He recalled, “It was awful. People would be throwing hamburgers and milkshakes at you. And it was almost winter, so it was starting to get cold.” Despite the bad conditions, he saw this as an opportunity. “That’s when I started planning and plotting”.

While he was working on his big exit, Walter started thinking strategically. He paid attention to detail and realized that the guard on Tuesday mornings was lazier than the rest. Instead of patting down the inmates before entering the bus, this one neglected to do so. Walter also started paying attention to the fact that the bus stopped at an area surrounded by wood. For months he paid close attention to how he would create his plan. Finally, he decided he was ready.

Tuesday morning came along and Walter was prepared. Just like he thought, the lazy guard did not check him before he entered the bus. Walter got ready that day and removed all his items from his locker. He stashed them under his uniform and went to the back of the bus, next to the emergency exit. As the bus came to a stop, this was his chance. He pushed the door open and ran into the woods. The prison sirens were in full motion.

Once he had all of this it was time to get a job. Finally, his life was turning around.

Yes at the time their hopes weren’t to high and they everybody thought that it would be impossible for the parole board to set Bobby free. That day a miracle happened, that day the Lord answered to all the prayers of the family. And that day Cheryl decided to forgive her husband and forget about all that had happened do that they could go on with their happy lives. Cheryl said: “The day he was set free, I sat him down and I asked ‘What is it? Are we the Loves? Or are we the Millers?” And he said: ”We Love. We Love.”

It appeared as though Jasper was sorry. the reason why? He was free to leave. He had nothing to apologize for, and it was his time. That, Jocelyn, was certain. She asked him to explain as she tried to process what he had just said, but all he could do was smile and close his eyes.

He arrived in one minute. He left the next moment. She was now expected to adjust to life without him. Yet how?

Jocelyn was unable to recall the route to the lake. More than that, she had no idea where the boat was or even if it still existed. It had been more than 30 years since she had last seen it. Jasper still owned it, right? She was aware that they had once tried to fix it, but the cost was prohibitive. Jocelyn had previously believed that he had allowed it to rot, but she was now unsure.

She recognized the name of the harbor near the city’s edge from one of the photos, which revived old memories. The last time she and Jasper went sailing, they docked there. She was compelled to go.

Concerned, Jocelyn inquired of the staff whether they were aware of her husband and what his request might signify. She was aware that it sounded odd, but in the end she explained that she was looking for a boat that she hadn’t seen in 30 years due to a riddle. On the drive home, Jocelyn tried to maintain her composure despite being very depressed. Jasper apparently meant for her to look for the boat, but where could it be right now? Jocelyn was merely ignorant. She approached her driveway with a dejected heart and then gasped at what she saw.

However, the first thing that popped into my head was, “Who put that boat here in the meantime?” Before she knew it, it would be some time. As she walked toward the boat, Jocelyn parked her car on the side of the road.

She quickly noticed that the cabin’s door was wide open. As Jocelyn ascended the boat’s steps, memories of the wonderful things she and Jasper had done on this boat immediately came to her. The boat didn’t appear to have changed much at first glance.

But after that, she enters the cabin of the boat through the hatch. She detects an odd scent that she finds pleasant. She then discovers the source of the odor. Red roses are scattered across the cabin’s entire floor and seating area. Who then placed them here?

She moves swiftly to the table where the majority of the roses are. She notices that something is hidden beneath the roses. She looks at what is on the table after removing all the flowers. It is a letter that bears her name.

She has a hard time reading the letter because of all the grime on it. She picks up the letter and starts reading. When she reads the first sentence, she starts to cry. ‘Dear Jocelyn, when you read this letter I will probably be gone.’

He smiles and opens the door for her. An outdated and musty workplace. ‘You must have come for Jasper’s present. I want to be the first to offer my condolences on the loss of your husband. But I think I have something that can improve your mood considerably.

He presents her with a sizable, aging chest. Jocelyn unlocks the chest and proceeds to cautiously lift the lid. The crate is loaded with papers, much to her own surprise. She picks up the first piece of paper she notices lying there. She is then startled.

The words TOP SECRET are printed in large letters on the document. She then notices her husband’s name and an old passport photo next to those letters. She continues reading the document, and then light starts to turn on.

Jasper has been living a double life the entire time. He has been employed by the FBI for the past 29 years as a spy. Several passports from various nations are stored in the chest. Each one contained a picture of Jasper. Over the years, he seems to have used several aliases.
