While it’s undeniable that India has a rich and beautiful history, that doesn’t mean it’s a whole country specifically dedicated to Instagram photos. One Mumbai-based blogger named Prachi Vaity has gotten tired of foreigners saying things like “I’m in India to find myself!” She says, “India is a country, not a self-help book! … Look, you can still come to India. Just leave your ‘Eat, Pray, Loving’ at the door. Your ‘self’ is not waiting patiently for you to arrive at some ashram in India, or a monastic retreat in the Himalayas. Sorry.”

It’s no secret that everyone thinks American tourists are loud. However, to Scottish people, the Americans’ “annoying accents” is a bigger problem. The least you could do as an American tourist is hold back on the Braveheart impersonations.
